Wildlife boxes

These are a speciality for us. We have supplied the Woodland Trust, National Trust, Natural England, Parish Councils and private woodland owners with numerous kits and assembled boxes for wildlife habitat creation and monitoring purposes.

As with all our products in rough sawn, kit or assembled form, we only use Devon or South West grown timber which is naturally durable and untreated.

Bird nest boxes are best put up in clusters of two or three within a blue tit pair’s territory so something other than a blue tit occupies at least one of the other boxes

We offer a range of styles, sizes and designs and can create bulk orders for farms, charitable trusts and other land / woodland managers.

Bird Boxes with assorted hole sizes: 25mm for blue tits; 28mm for Pied Flycatchers & great tits; 32mm for sparrows and nuthatches, 45mm for starlings; Open fronted for robins and wrens + a barn owl box made from reclaimed plywood and Devon timber.

The following list shows prices for our most frequently made boxes:

Small bird box *- £17.50 plus VAT (with 25mm, 28mm or 32mm entrance hole)

Barn owl box * – £80 plus VAT

Bat box * – £20 to £36.50 plus VAT (depends upon design)

Dormouse box *- £19.40 plus VAT

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you require any further information or wish to discuss other bespoke options regarding wildlife boxes.

*NB please note that all these species are legally protected so that their nests and habitat remain undisturbed during the nesting season. Only DEFRA approved or UK Home-Office licensed handlers engaged in conservation and monitoring work may inspect wildlife boxes (by removal of the lid) in order to check occupation at the appropriate time for a given species.
